SOURCE produces a completely off-grid solution to create drinking water from just sunlight and air. Let’s find out how.
The earth’s atmosphere contains roughly 3,100 cubic miles of water. The water is contained in the form of vapour. This water can actually be collected and converted to drinking water.
ZeroMassWater, a startup that provides sustainable water solutions, has come up with an easy off-grid solution for anybody to create drinking water using solar panels and air. It’s called “Source”, and looks like a metal box integrated with solar panels.
According to the CEO of the company, Cody Friessen, a material scientist and professor at Arizona State University, the device uses solar energy to run a set of proprietary materials to passively collect humidity and convert it into clean drinking water.
